What is it?
If you are looking for a permanent solution for balding, an altered hairline or even voluminous hair, hair transplant is an attractive option. A hair transplant is a cosmetic surgical treatment of transplanting hair from the back of your head or a part of your body to your scalp.
Hair transplants have been going on since the 1950’s and one can only imagine how much technology has advanced. However, it still requires an expert in the field of hair transplants to conduct a surgery.
Hair transplant is not only a science; it is an art, which very few in the industry have mastered. PHI Clinic is the forerunner in Hair transplants led by a team of experienced and certified trichologists. We use only FDA approved, patented and clinically-safe hair transplant techniques
∙Consultation with our team of trichologists who will take you through the procedure, concerns and care requirements of hair transplant.
∙The trichologist will choose one of the two methods of the transplant like the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or the FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant- renowned as ‘Strip surgery’) or a combination of the two.
∙The scalp is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied.
∙Anaesthetic is injected to numb the back of your head.
∙With FUT, a 6- to 10-inch strip of skin from the back of your head is removed. The strip of skin is set aside and the scalp is sutured. This area is immediately hidden by the hair around it.
∙Next, the technician team divides the strip of removed scalp into tiny grafts, each with an individual hair or just a few hairs. The number and type of graft you get depends on your hair type, quality, colour, and the size of the area where you’re getting the transplant.
∙If you’re getting the FUE procedure, the back of your scalp is shaved. The doctor removes hair follicles one by one from there. The area heals with small dots.
∙ After this point, both procedures are the same.
∙After the doctor and his team prepare the grafts, the surgeon numbs the area where the hair will go, creates holes or slits with a needle or scalpel, and delicately places each graft in one of the holes.
∙The procedure is usually performed in day care and the patient can go home the same day.
Anywhere from 10-80% transplanted hair will fully grow back in an estimated three to four months.
Like regular hair, transplanted hair will thin over time.
People with dormant hair follicles (sacs that usually contain hair beneath the skin but no longer grow hair) may have less effective transplants, but our advance Hair therapy can help up to 75 percent or more of the transplanted hairs fully grow back.
